Stage Management
It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play by Joe Landry. Directed by Craig Schieber, 2021. Position - Stage Manager. This show is currently in the rehearsal process.
Working: A Musical by Nina Faso and Stephen Schwartz. Directed by Jim Lortz, 2019. Position - Stage Manager. This show utilized projections and lighting, often called in conjunction with live sound, in order to bring to onto the stage the working class community in which the production was performed.
Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons by Sam Steiner - Directed by Max Koh, 2019. Position - Stage Manager. Matthew’s duties for this show involved securing rehearsal spaces up until tech and re-spiking the stage before every show, as the performance venue was used for other purposes during the day/week.
The Odyssey adapted by Glenn Hergenhahn-Zhao - Directed by Ashley Albertson, 2019. Position - Stage Manager. This play required constant upkeep of the set, which consisted of a large pile of sand covering the entirety of the stage. The lighting and sound board were also run solely by Matthew, often in conjunction with one another.
Fefu and Her Friends by Maria Irene Fornes - Directed by Oceana Dunsire, 2019. Position - Stage Manager. This play had many sound cues to indicate offstage action that corresponded to actor entrances. The magical realism of the play was conveyed through synchronized sound and lighting specials to highlight certain characters and actions. A prop heavy show, Matthew was responsible for managing the consumables.
Snapshot by Tanya Barfield et al. - Directed by Jay Chavez, 2018. Position - Stage Manager. This play consisted of short, vignette scenes with frequent set changes and sound cues.
Production Management
Bring It On: the Musical - Directed by Aaron Cooper, 2018. Position - Production Manager. This musical was the Summer Independent Production at Village Theatre KIDSTAGE, Everett for their 2017-2018 season. The production team consisted of college students pursuing theatre and learning how to work collaboratively in a professional environment. Matthew’s duties were to balance the budget, compile program information, facilitate communication, including planning and running production meetings, and mediating conflict, both between members of the production team and between the team and cast.
Next Generation - Directed by Alex Robinson, 2016. Position - Production Manager. This student-led cabaret, sponsored by foundry10, a Seattle-based non-profit, showcased the talents of Seattle-area seniors in the graduating class of 2016. Matthew’s role involved coordinating rehearsal times and spaces, facilitating communication, booking the performance venue, providing concessions, setting up the space, and finding crew members to run the show.
James and the Giant Peach Jr. - Directed by Kate Jeager, 2016. Position - Production Manager Apprentice. Working under Aaron Alonso, Production Manager of Village Theatre KIDSTAGE, Matthew’s role involved compiling program information, designing show shirts, learning to budget, and general upkeep of space.
